So you have finished your meal and your sitting there contemplating on how you will answer the question "So, do we have room for dessert tonight?" After a nice meal, what do you guys prefer to have in front of you for your desert.

For me, I love a good piece of cobbler (preferably black berry) and a nice hot cup of coffee!

In all seriousness, for dessert, I love me some chocolate cake and a big glass of cold milk. It doesn't get much better than that.

I usually go for either a bowl of ice cream or an ice cream sandwich. I'm not too fond of many pies or other types of desert. Oh, and gotta have the chocolate fudge/syrup.

Ideally the Gulab Jamun....Then out here there are so many options for dessert.

i personally avoid the sweets though.

If I left room for dessert there are usually three things that I will go for if they are available.... in no particular order:

1. Cheesecake, the simpler the better
2. Carrot cake
3. Key Lime pie

If you ever eat at The Cheesecake Factory, their dinner portions are pretty much spot on to where you are satisfied, yet you still have plenty of room for dessert, and thus, I always get suckered when looking at the list.

6. anything that says chocolate in large proportions

For some reason I don't like eating dessert but especially at restaurants; the only one that I really look forward to is Fleming's chocolate cake (it is similar to all those other "chocolate lava cakes" you will find at steakhouses but soooo much better) with berry sauce and hazelnut ice cream.

whenever I reduced the consumption of desserts quite heavily over the past two decades, I love to have some icecream, but usually do with a Grappa or a Calvados or a Poire-Williams.
